In the Fall/Winter 26 collection, the Gaia family is introduced as a new signature, shaped by the ornament's grounding form and a wave-inspired silhouette, carried differently across each shape.
First sculpted by hand in clay by Design Director Anna Johansson, the ornament is reimagined as a refined, golden bag lock. Named after Gaia, the ancient personification of the Earth, the ornament embodies grounding and origin. Gaia is not only a goddess; she is the earth itself, the foundation on which everything rests. Its seashell-like form echoes natural softness and draws on Barbara Hepworth’s fluid sculptural language. Her ability to shape raw material into softened, organic forms resonates throughout our approach this season.
The Gaia bags adopt a wave-inspired silhouette, giving the impression that the ornament gravity gently draws the top line of the bag into motion, placing it at the quiet center around which everything gathers.
Acting as a golden thread through the collection, the Gaia ornament reinforces the dialogue between art and function, becoming a subtle homage to the woman who so often serves as the steady anchor of daily life, holding its rhythms together with quiet strength.
